Jack 'The Hammer', earned his soubriquet during his five year stint for Ransom & Son Debt Recovery Service, where he pounded the doors of defaulters to the Children of Avalon New Age Book Club. It was his unenviable task to retrieve assets from a host of mis-informed & impecunious yoghurt weavers - achieved by the practice of Shamanic Bailliff techniques gleaned from the writings of Carlos Castaneda. His line of work procured him many curios and oddities - shrunken heads, inflated beds and a double Bb Tuba, upon which he is happy to parp away for hours due to his Zen Buddhist discipline which allows these hours to seem but minutes. The Hammer plays a mean Cornet & Trumpet in the Zen Hussies, as well as having a penchant for the Ukulele, Melodica, Valve Trombone, Tuba & any other bit of brass he can direct his spittle into! Jack is currently looking for fellow absurdist jazzers to join his Raymond Scott tribute band.
